When it comes to routine cleaning and disinfection procedures in health care facilities, there have been few to no global and generally applicable specifications or guidelines to date.
The recently published recommendations of the group of authors around Professor Ojan Assadian could remedy this situation. Published in March 2021 in the Journal of Hospital Infection, the publication was also immediately discussed in the Infection Control Matters podcast series and presented as an excellent, easy-to-understand, and practical summary.
It gives a comprehensive overview of cleaning and disinfection and is not only relevant for hygienists, but also for other target groups in health care facilities, such as cleaning managers and budget managers.
