Self-adhesive I.V. dressing for securing cannulas made of a soft non-woven fabric as support material, with a specially coated, non-adherent wound dressing pad; additional, separate pad as protection from pressure points through the indwelling cannula; skin-friendly through a hypoallergenic synthetic adhesive.

Cosmopor I.V. transparent consists of a transparent polyurethane film coated with medical grade acrylic adhesive and a polyester spunlaced non-woven, coated with a medical grade synthetic rubber-based adhesive.

The non-woven backing contains a transparent window, which is covered with the polyurethane film to allow  visual control of the puncture site and the cannulae/catheters during the application of the dressing. Both, the non-woven and the transparent polyurethane film materials, contain an opening for positioning the cannula.

Cosmopor I.V. transparent additionally contains 2 fixation strips (sizes 6x5 cm and 9x7 cm) and 3 fixation strips (size 12x10 cm) composed of a polyester spunlaced non-woven, coated with a medical grade synthetic rubber-based adhesive. The fixation strips are attached to the protective cover of the dressing.
